Tap Water Linz Austria has one of the highest quality water filtration systems in Europe. It is certified by the EU. I decided to see if it lived up to its claim of providing safe drinking water for my family and also to see if it could help save me some money in the process. It is a fairly large city with quite a lot of historical buildings so I expected that there would be a lot of contaminants in the water, but surprisingly I did not see much.
My family were quite impressed with the water quality, it had a faint smell of hay and tasted better than most waters from bottles. The water faucet took a while to get used to after it was installed, but once fitted everything worked fine. We also had a guy from the water filtration company visit us and we got his opinion on why whole house filters are more cost effective. He said that the sediment and bacteria were already washed away in the mainstream so we didn''t need to bother with a whole house filter.
